How to Remove Search.gboxapp.com? (Homepage Changed to Search.gboxapp.com Removal)

Search.gboxapp.com is often bundled with freeware installation. If you download a free program and install it by quick installation (default), Search.gboxapp.com will be added to your browser, and made your default search provider and homepage. Step 1. Open the Internet Explorer> Select Tools and choose Internet Options. (Press the Alt key to reveal the Menu bar if it’s hidden.)

Step 2. Choose General, type your favorite site and set it as the homepage.

Step 3. Click on Advanced, and choose Reset.

Step 4. Label the option: Delete personal settings after Reset Internet Explorer Settings window popping up; later click Reset to apply all changes.

Step 5. Open Internet Explorer>Tools>Manage Add-ons> Find and remove any suspicious toolbar.

Step 6. Check Windows HOSTS file and remove any additional malicious entries.
Go to: C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc\hosts. Open the hosts file with Notepad, and you should see below image. Delete more lines of code and IPs.

Step 7. Check DNS settings to make sure they are set to obtain address automatically.
To do this, you need to go to Windows Start icon> Control Panel> Network Connections> Local Area Connection and select Properties> Under General tab, select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) > Properties> Choose Obtain an IP address automatically and Obtain DNS server address automatically, and hit OK to apply all changes.

Step 8. Download a system cleaner program- Cloud System Booster to clean out and remove all remnants.
